Long, durable, comfortable, and soft
With COVID-19 locking down all gyms and making outdoor workouts challenging too (especially when getting exposed could put my at-risk mother-in-law in potential danger), my family and I had been seeking to buy an exercise bike for some time. For MONTHS they were sold out everywhere, but we finally got a Peloton. No, I did not get it for my wife for Christmas :-)
We also got tile and laminated wood flooring throughout the house, and they presented two challenges: one was too slippery and the other was susceptible to scratching by heavy exercise equipment. A mat was needed! We used a yoga mat and though it worked, it was a tad too narrow and short and sweat ended up on the floor that needed to be wiped. Having sweat build up on the laminate floor would not go well. So, we searched for dedicated bike mats and came across this Powr Labs one.
I had previously purchased the company's heart rate chest strap and was thoroughly impressed by it, giving Garmin and Polar a run for the money. It also is US-based, and I want to continue supporting American businesses, especially during this pandemic when the economy has been in a rough shape.

Ripped easily on second use
The mat fit under my peloton well, but the second day I had it, it ripped under my cycling shoe. I would be returning, but I guess it’s too late. I already bought a different mat because this one is not durable enough.
Edit: I added back 2 stars because of their excellent customer service. They refunded me and offered to replace the mat.

What size is the mat?
30 x 71 in, or 2.5 x 6 ft. That is about 30% longer than a standard equipment mat, which is what a bike on a trainer needs.
Will a Peloton fit on it?
Yes. A Peloton Bike or Bike+ has a 4 x 2 ft footprint, so it sits on the mat with room to spare for a fan or water bottle.
Does it work on carpet as well as hardwood?
Yes. The mat is dense and firm, so it does not sink into carpet, and the non-slip surface keeps equipment planted on hardwood, tile and laminate.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. The surface has a custom sweat-proof and waterproof coating, so drips stay on the mat and wipe off instead of soaking into the floor.
Will trainer feet or cleats damage it?
No. It is extra-dense and scratch resistant, designed to take trainer feet, bike cleats and the weight of a rower or treadmill without tearing.
How do I clean it?
Wipe it down with a damp cloth or hand wash with mild soap, then air dry. Do not machine wash.
It arrived rolled. Will it lie flat?
